Where Can I Watch?

BBC Red Button and iPlayer will offer the entire show in the United Kingdom. It will be shown on BBC One from 16.45-18.00 BST with the final half hour on BBC Two.

How Will The Drawing Work?

On Friday, four pots will be drawn. The rankings are based on the FIFA world rankings, which will be updated on Thursday. Qatar, however, is guaranteed to be in pot one because they are the hosts, which has raised many concerns.

Group A will also include them.

Other teams in the first pot will be the seven highest-ranked sides. Pots two and three will include the next eight highest-ranked sides. Pots four and five will include the next eight after that.

Pot four, however, is interesting. Five places will be determined by rank. The other two will be used as placeholders for the intercontinental playoffs. A play-off will be held between Wales and either Scotland or Ukraine, whose semi-finals have been delayed by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

In addition, each group is restricted geographically. There can only be one representative per continent, with the exception of Europe, which has two representatives as it provides 13 of the 32 competitors.
